AK Shears Warranty
Every pair of AK Shears’ shears comes with a five-year warranty that covers you from any material defects, excluding damage from impact, shear sharping and normal wear. AK Shears stands behind the years of precision craftsmanship and our VG10 steel.
You do not need to register your product. When you purchase a pair of shears, you are automatically registered.

Care and Maintenance
Performance of your shears requires maintenance to ensure optimal functioning.
Maintenance includes cleaning, lubricating, tension adjustment and sharpening service. Shears will loosen from regular use and need daily adjustments. Not maintaining proper shear tension will impact the overall performance and lead to premature wear.
Setting Proper Shear Tension
- Hold your thumb blade in the twelve o’clock position, with the tip pointing toward the ceiling.
- Lift your finger blade to the nine o’clock position and gently release it.
- Your finger blade should stop between ten and eleven o’clock
- Adjust your tension screw by loosening or tightening in small increments. Repeat steps A & B until the proper tension is achieved
Cleaning
Cleaning of blades after each cut is essential. Using a clean cloth or towel, wipe in the opposite direction of the blade maintain blade sharpness. Then spray alcohol on all surfaces (including pivot) to fully clean the shears. After all surfaces are clean, use the lubricant provided with your order on the pivot area. Please follow the instructions below.
- Open shears, then place a drop of oil above and below the pivot area. Turn your scissor over and repeat this process.
- Motion your shears several times to ensure oil works into pivot area.
- Clean excess oil using a soft cloth or towel.
- Recheck shear tension.
